How It Happened
The plaintiff, a 51-year-old woman, was crossing the street when she was hit and dragged and then left lying bloody in the street while the motorist drove away. When the EMTs arrived, the plaintiff was in the street with her groceries scattered around her.
City cameras captured the vehicle hitting the plaintiff and dragging her approximately 15 to 20 feet. The vehicle was also recorded driving throughout the neighborhood on several home surveillance cameras.
Injuries sustained from the accident
As a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered numerous injuries, including a fracture of her lumbosacral spine and pelvis, fracture of the vault of her skull, maxillary fracture, broken elbow, vocal cord paralysis, and traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage with loss of consciousness. Hit and Run Motorcycle Accident - Uninsured Claim
How It Happened
While operating his motorcycle our client was cut off by a motor vehicle, resulting in a crash. The responsible party fled and was never located. After some investigation of witnesses and accident reconstruction, we were able to establish the fault of the missing driver without their presence. We obtained a settlement for our client using the uninsured provision of his insurance policy.

As a result of the accident our client was thrown 30 feet from his motorcycle, knocked unconscious, and suffered numerous broken bones as well as a head injury. Our client sustained significant injuries, including extensive pulmonary contusions, subdural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, pneumothorax, multiple rib fractures, and fracture to the left clavicle and left scapula. The plaintiff was delivering liquid nitrogen and had to go up a ramp that had cracks in the pavement. As he was pulling the dolly, he felt a pull in his shoulder and collapsed to the floor in excruciating pain. He was placed on lighter duties after X-Rays and being placed in a sling.
As a result of the accident, the plaintiff had a SLAP tear in his shoulder and could no longer perform the same duties he had previously been doing. This put financial and social strain on the plaintiff’s mental health as well as continued pain and suffering due to lack of physical ability. He underwent physical therapy to attempt to rehabilitate his shoulder and return to a normal work load.

How It Happened
A Stoughton woman was babysitting when she was attacked and bitten in the face by the homeowner's dog.

The woman was rushed to the hospital where the wound required over 200 sutures. A plastic surgeon was retained to determine the extent and nature of any revision surgery that may be necessary. The wound healed over the course of the year with limited scarring.

How It Happened
A Quincy woman was hit and killed in a crosswalk as she attempted to cross the street to make the commuter rail. The signal for the cross walk was not activated. A 51-Year-old Woman tripped over a duffle bag scattered on the floor in a walkway on her way to the stairs. The lights were dim, visibility was poor, and the restaurant refused to turn the lights on after she had fallen. Her left knee was bloody and bruised, and she had trouble walking to leave.
As a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered numerous injuries to her leg and knee, including bleeding, bruising, swollenness, and constant pain which ultimately resulted in a knee replacement surgery and required extensive physical therapy. Motor Vehicle Accident – Motorcycle Driver Hit By Another Vehicle Causing Surgery and Physical Therapy
The plaintiff was driving his motorcycle when the defendant pulled out of her driveway without looking and hit the plaintiff. He was thrown over the front of the vehicle and slid across the road. He was brought to the hospital, and his left knee was placed in an immobilizer.

The plaintiff was driving through an intersection in Lawrence when they were stuck on the driver's side of the vehicle by another car that had gone through the red light. The plaintiff suffered multiple fractures and dislocated his elbow from the impact. He began to lose feeling in his fingers as well as some severe swelling around his elbow.
As a result of the accident, the plaintiff had to undergo surgery as there were too many bone fragments displaced in his elbow. As a result of the accident, the victim was unable to work. The victim suffered fractures, left ankle sprain, rib fractures (5-9), and while hospitalized, he developed hospital-acquired pneumonia. Although he is much better, our client still has some ongoing problems. His injuries do not allow him to tolerate the physical demands of his job. The victim is disabled due to the multiple injuries he sustained, and he cannot return to his job because of the physically limitations which interfere with his daily life.

How It Happened
Our 16-year-old client, who was crossing the street, was struck by a distracted driver that failed to brake in time.
Injuries sustained from the accident
As a result of this accident, our client sustained head trauma, shoulder pain, and elbow injuries. She suffered multiple head abrasions requiring multiple staples. She also suffered skin lacerations. CT scans of her head led to a diagnosis of soft tissue swelling, amnesia of the event, concussion, and frontal subdural hematoma with moderate traumatic brain injury. X-Rays performed at Tufts Medical Center revealed left elbow joint effusion with occult fracture.

A woman was checking gas meters for leaks at local buildings in Haverhill, MA. While entering a building, she couldn’t find a light switch to the stairwell leading down into the basement. Because she could not see clearly, she fell off a platform and tumbled down the basement stairs. There was no railing at the top of this platform and the railing to the stairs was also missing.

He could not brace himself properly due to the fact that he was carrying his child and did not want the child to get hurt. There is no surgery to repair the injury, and he is too young for a full knee replacement. Due to the lack of availability of remedies, he has to undergo extensive physical therapy and cortisone shots every few months to diminish his daily pain.

A patient who voluntarily went to the hospital as a result of a car accident was tackled and punched by two security officers while trying to leave the hospital. The patient had tried to leave against the wishes of the hospital and his family. As a result, he was pursued and eventually tackled by the officers. One officer was injured as a result of the altercation and the patient was charged with assault and battery. On the day of trial, we requested that the officers be appointed counsel due to their fifth amendment rights not to incriminate themselves in the pending trial.
After consultation with their attorneys, the officers decided against testifying and the Commonwealth was forced to dismiss the charges against the patient.

A Burlington woman charged with felony assault and battery resulting in bodily injury in Woburn District Court for disciplining her child in public. After a motion to dismiss we were able to get the case reduced to a misdemeanor assault and battery. The day of trial we had five witnesses prepped and ready to testify. In pre-trial motions we successfully argued to keep the 911 tape out.

A Methuen man was charged with possession of a Class C substance in Ayer District Court. The criminal complaint alleged the defendant possessed “Butane Honey Oil.” The Commonwealth argues that the THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is a cannabis extract and is the chemical responsible for the majority of marijuana’s psychological effects, is a Class C controlled substance. BHO may test as high as 80% or more in THC.
After a motion to dismiss for lack of probable cause, the court case was dismissed.
