I’ve been having Sunday dinners with my family since I was a young boy. Sunday and dinners are just refreshing, there’s no stress, nobody’s thinking about work, everyone’s just thinking of a funny story or how are they doing in school, just friendly banter back and forth, but it’s really a time for all of us to decompress. It’s a room full of love, I mean, there’s nothing more than that. My family has tried to keep that tradition going as we’ve gotten older and now my brother and I and our families and my parents get together every Sunday, and it’s great because now I get to see my children, their cousins, form those bonds that I did as a kid. You have three kids, most of my time is spent running around from hockey rink to hockey rink with my kids. Also, we put out an outdoor hockey rink at the house in the backyard. I try my best to keep up with the kids without hurting myself. Carving out time for the family’s hard. God knows, we all have different things that we’re doing, and if it’s important enough to you, you’ll do it. Life as a business owner is definitely busy, but it is to me one of the most rewarding things I’ve been involved with. Growing up, my father was a construction laborer and then eventually evolved into running his own business. The hard work that he put into running a business left a lasting impact on me and how he ran the business and what his clients meant to him and how important it was to do the right job. That’s really the intensity and focus I try to bring to my clients. Family means everything to me, there’s nothing more important, so making sure that the family bond is strong is the most important thing.
