Trip and Fall – Restaurant Goer Suffers Fracture Requiring Knee Surgery
A 51-Year-old Woman tripped over a duffle bag scattered on the floor in a walkway on her way to the stairs. The
lights were dim, visibility was poor, and the restaurant refused to turn the lights on after she had fallen. Her
left knee was bloody and bruised, and she had trouble walking to leave.
As a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered numerous injuries to her leg and knee, including bleeding,
bruising, swollenness, and constant pain which ultimately resulted in a knee replacement surgery and required
extensive physical therapy. The physical therapy took more than three months to complete.
