Felix Matos Medina Seriously Injured in Londonberry Collision Along Interstate 93 South by Exit 5
LONDONBERRY, NEW HAMPSHIRE (April 7, 2026) – A man, identified as Felix Matos Medina, was seriously injured in a Londonderry crash on Interstate 93 South after being struck by a vehicle while outside his car. Authorities say Medina had pulled over in the breakdown lane and exited his vehicle when he was hit, resulting in a car-versus-pedestrian incident.
Rockingham County officials are saying that the accident took place around 11:00 AM on Saturday. Felix Medina stopped his vehicle in the breakdown lane of the freeway to investigate a potential mechanical problem with that vehicle.
Not long after stepping out of his car, he was hit by a Chevrolet Malibu. The victim sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.
The driver of the Malibu remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time. New Hampshire State Police are asking anyone with more information to reach out to them.
An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision remains ongoing at this time.
Liability for Londonberry Car Accidents
Drivers must exercise due care to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. They must be particularly cautious when approaching any stationary vehicle or pedestrian. Pursuant to NH Rev Stat § 265:60, “No person shall drive a vehicle on a way at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing.” There are many different ways that a driver may have acted negligently prior to any pedestrian collision.
- A driver may have been traveling at an unsafe speed given the prevailing road conditions.
- A driver may have been intoxicated through their use of alcohol or other substances.
- A driver may have been distracted by their cell phone or other object.
- A driver may have allowed their vehicle to drift too close to another lane of traffic.
If a driver collides with a pedestrian on the roadway, this could serve as evidence of negligence. Drivers must maintain adequate separation from stationary vehicles. They must also take into consideration the possibility that any pedestrian could be entering or exiting those vehicles. The vast majority of pedestrian accidents are preventable and involve some amount of negligence.
Steps to Take After A Londonberry Pedestrian Accident
Car accidents remain a leading cause of preventable injury and death in the United States. According to the World Health Organization, “Every year the lives of approximately 1.19 million people are cut short as a result of a road traffic crash. Between 20 and 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability.” Certain actions should be taken after any pedestrian accident.
- The police report created after the accident should be sought. These reports represent an officer’s initial impressions of what took place, though they often contain errors.
- All medical records related to the incident should be reviewed. The nature of a person’s injuries can help reveal how an accident occurred, even in the total absence of eyewitnesses.
- Victims should carefully consider their legal options with a team experienced in personal injury claims.
Being seriously injured in a car accident is often one of the most traumatic and harmful experiences that most people will ever go through. Many of the injuries associated with these accidents will not be fully revealed until sometime after the actual accident. For example, a head injury can result in lasting physical and neurological impairment down the road. Any person injured in a pedestrian accident may be able to pursue damages with a personal injury claim.
