If you didn’t go to the hospital after an accident, you may absolutely still file a claim for settlement. You do have to, in Massachusetts, have $2,000 worth of medical bills in order to be able to make a claim. But, that can be through your primary care physician, it can be through chiropractic, it can be through physical therapy, it can be through going to a neurologist or pain management, urgent care, if you don’t feel like going to an emergency room, you think, it’s Saturday night, I’m going to be there forever, go to a walk in the next morning.

Don’t ever think that just because it’s a small accident you shouldn’t get medical attention. Definitely get medical attention if you need it.

It’s tough with insurance companies if you don’t get treatment right away or if you have a gap in treatment. If you didn’t go, obviously you weren’t in enough pain. You don’t have health insurance, so you’re afraid to go right away. You don’t think you’re injured, so you don’t go right away. In Massachusetts, you do need the $2,000 worth of medical. But, I encourage anybody who me to go get medical anyway because that’s so very important.
