You want to note when it happened, how it happened, what the road conditions were, anything that you can remember about how it happened, but more importantly is actually what happens after the accident.

You’re going to need to call your insurance company. Write down the name of the person you spoke with, write down the name of the claim number that they give you, whether you talk to your insurance company or the other parties, or both, make sure you maintain that information.
