A deposition is when you answer questions under oath. It’s usually in an office like ours, opposing counsel’s office. It could even be at a court reporter’s office. Sometimes nowadays, they’re done by Zoom conferences. The opposing attorney will ask you questions about the accident, your injuries, your background, and how the injuries have affected your life. In advance of your deposition, we’re going to prepare you thoroughly. You’re going to know different practice questions. We’re going to discuss strategy with you. While the whole process may seem intimidating, remember, you’re just telling the truth about what happened to you. We’re going to be right there next to you, protecting you from inappropriate questions.

Depositions often lead to better settlements because the insurance company sees you as a real person with real injuries. They know you’re not just a claim number. They get to know you and know your story. They get to see firsthand how the injury has deeply impacted your life once you step in front of a jury.
